About Us
Honeywell at a glance

The Honeywell Group came into existence in the year 1972. The group started off first as Honeywell Enterprises, a registered business name, and then later evolved into a limited liability company about a year later. At the early stages, the company was named and existed primarily to formalize the foods and regional North/South trading activities belonging to the Chairman’s late mother, which extended beyond Nigeria to Ghana and other West Africa countries. In the early seventies, the Honeywell Enterprises Limited expanded its trading operations to become a major importer of baking yeast and milk from Holland, Stockfish from Norway, Glass from Czechoslovakia, Steel Rods from Brazil just to mention a few.

The Honeywell Group, Chaired by Dr. Oba Otudeko, OFR, also the Chairman of Airtel Nigeria and Fan Milk of Nigeria Plc., has since grown to become one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous conglomerates. The Honeywell Group is now a major diversified group engaged in select businesses in key sectors of the Nigerian economy, namely; foods and agro-allied, energy (oil, gas and power), infrastructure, real estate and services, and through other portfolio investments the Group is also a significant provider of capital to other sectors of Nigeria’s economy including banking, telecommunications, dairy foods and logistics. Operating from offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, the Group employs over ten thousand people, local and expatriate staff.

The Group has built an unrivalled track record of successfully establishing and managing thriving world class companies in Nigeria. The Group recorded a milestone in December 2008 when its flagship company, Honeywell Flour Mills, went public and subsequently became quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2009.
