Head, Special Projects, Honeywell Group
In Honeywell Group, I learnt what it means to “use enterprise to make our world better”

I have always believed that we, the citizens of our country, need to be at the vanguard of solving our problems. Coming from a science and technology background, with a B.Sc in Industrial Chemistry, Master’s degree in Environmental Technology and an MBA from Lagos Business School, I believe that the best way to create value is to solve problems through innovation. Therefore, I chose to pursue a career that will help me develop into a complete professional with the capacity to use enterprise to solve socio-economic problems.

I started my career in one of the big four consulting firms, with the goal of gaining relevant experience and knowledge of diverse sectors of the Nigerian economy. This was followed by further studies to entrench these capabilities. Having achieved this, the next objective was to apply the knowledge in industries and organisations where knowledge and excellence are part of their values; I found that opportunity in the Honeywell Group.

My nearly eight years of experience at Honeywell Group has been very rewarding. It has been a journey stewed in tailored training (external and internal) and in business incubation and execution with a focus on providing solutions to problems in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy: particularly power and infrastructure. Clearly, the Group’s objective resonates with my personal objective which is why I consider it a privilege to be part of the Group’s journey to achieving its vision of becoming “the most admired African company in terms of our successes, practices and people”.

I also appreciate the “family environment” which the Group has created. Over the years, I have personally imbibed the Group’s core values: responsibility, integrity, courage, excellence and respect for the individual. Doing this has evoked a sense of fulfilment in me, privately and professionally.

The Honeywell Group has contributed immensely to my career growth and development. I have benefited immensely from the training and development interventions offered to staff.  In addition to these interventions, I also obtained education support for my MBA programme at Africa’s prestigious citadel of learning, the Lagos Business School.

At Honeywell Group I have learnt what it means to “use enterprise to make our world better”. The Group’s values sum up the key requirements for success in career and human relations; and this is demonstrated in her engagement with external and internal shareholders. For me, the lessons I have acquired, and the relationships fostered with colleagues are priceless and will continue to influence my worldview.
